About
Dr. Albert Scales III is the founder of Rooted in Grace Counseling and Coaching — a faith-integrated telehealth practice serving individuals, couples, and men in crisis from wherever they are in the world.
He is a Licensed Pastoral Counselor credentialed through the National Christian Counselors Association, a Certified Professional Mental Health Coach through the International Board of Christian Care, an ordained minister, and a U.S. Marine Corps and Coast Guard veteran. He holds a PhD in Pastoral Counseling and has spent his career at the intersection of clinical excellence, biblical truth, and the kind of real-world experience that cannot be learned in a classroom.
Rooted in Grace offers two distinct tracks of care.
The pastoral counseling track serves individuals and couples from the faith community through temperament-based counseling using the Arno Profile System, scripture-integrated sessions, and a deep commitment to helping people return to healing and a relationship with Christ.
The coaching track serves a specific population — veterans, first responders, and faith community men who have lost themselves in service to others and need a structured, faith-grounded path back to identity, purpose, and restored relationships. This work is built on Dr. Scales' proprietary ROOTS Model — Reveal, Own, Orient, Transform, Sustain — a framework designed to move men from hidden pain to rooted, sustainable change.
Dr. Scales does not believe that asking for help is weakness. He believes it is the first act of courage on the road back to wholeness. His work exists for the man — and the couple — who are ready to take that step.
